This bypass is found empty and covered in fog, subduing the colours to a neutral of grey of the embankment and softened green of the grass with the lonely road striking through the middle.

This point on The Meridian Line features lorries bathed in the evening sun as they trundle along the A141 appearing small in comparison to the vast fen sky.

This is a photograph from a collection of 36, born from an idea to produce a set of photographs that followed The Meridian Line and its route through Cambridgeshire, one for each minute of Latitude. The images would go through, over and under whatever came in the path of the camera’s lens and through the Fens would involve people and communities throughout Cambridgeshire, many in isolated locations.
