FUJI 6x9
Fuji GW690III Professional 6x9 camera, made in Japan by Fuji in 1992, discontinued in 2003.
I actually own two of these cameras, the first I saw in the window of Jessops and I had to have it so I took out a £500 hire purchase loan to buy it in. I used it locally in my year 2000 series 36 Minutes in Cambridgeshire and in the 2003 Cottenham series I was commissioned to do as the format really fitted the landscape nature of the projects.
I used it in America shooting Dream in Colour in my early trips on pictures like Adult Entertainment, Texaco Marine and Road to Gunsight.
This large camera is extremely light which makes it great to carry as part of my kit. It's a simple mechanical camera to use as there are no electronics. It's got a rangefinder to focus so you have to use your imagination and experience to create the shot. But it makes great big negatives that you can really take large without too much grain so I love what I can achieve with it which is why when my first one died I did buy a replacement.
I have used this camera when shooting DEJAVU although I haven't made the prints yet, below are some raw images from my contact sheets which is motivating me to get in the darkroom to print them up large scale.
